Isabelle Léourier
The craftsman’s biography
Isabelle Léourier trained as a graphic designer in Paris in the early 1980s, and worked for 6 years in haute couture, before being seduced by the freedom offered by the hat universe. In 1994, she set up her workshop in Chambly, in Oise, between town and nature. She finds her inspiration, gracefully mixing the artificial with the natural elements. Fashion designer, Isabelle now invests the world of decoration, populating the space of unique and lively pieces.
The universe of Isabelle Léourier is inhabited volutes, elastic curves fed interlacing and fishnet, pearls and feather clouds. The voluptuous windings suddenly meet jets of lines more nervous. The rigor of clearly defined knots, the refined form of the arabesque and the millimetric rhythm of the volumes, trace the full and the delicate of a writing of tissues. Isabelle’s work bears the imprint of dance and sculpture, which have nourished her from a very young age. As an expert in well-orchestrated overflowing, an original out-of-context and scholarly balance, the designer gives her sensitive and contemporary definition of a textile sculpture touched by grace. His finery takes flight, telling sensual and mysterious stories. For more than 20 years, Isabelle Léourier collaborates with the studios of Parisian haute couture houses. She lets her fingers and her eyes guide her inspiration, for Christian Lacroix, Jean-Louis Scherrer, Stéphane Rolland, Christophe Josse, Valentino, Alexandre de Paris and Jun Ashida. |
